Wadi Rum Night Luxury Camp
Wadi Rum Protected Area, Southern Jordan
Wadi Rum Night Luxury Camp sits within the protected area of Wadi Rum. It offers two very different ways to sleep in the desert. Traditional Bedouin tents use goat-hair canvas, handmade furniture and woven textiles to connect directly to the desert culture of this landscape. Bubble rooms take a different approach entirely — transparent walls and ceilings dissolve the boundary between the interior and the night sky above. Consequently, guests choose between immersion in Bedouin tradition and immersion in the stars.
Solar power runs the camp. Desert silence here is genuine — no generator noise, no road sounds, nothing beyond the wind across the sandstone. Furthermore, the camp sits deep enough within the protected area that the surrounding formations create a natural enclosure. As a result, the scale of the terrain is fully present from every tent platform.

Accommodation
Wadi Rum Night Luxury Camp offers twenty-five fully equipped tents across two categories. Bedouin tents sit on platforms with private terraces facing the valley and the rock formations. Each has a king-size bed, a Bedouin sofa and high-quality bed linens. All furniture is handmade. Bubble rooms add transparent walls and ceilings to the tent format — from the bed, the Milky Way is visible on clear nights without moving. In addition, each tent type includes an en-suite bathroom with hot shower. Solar energy powers the camp after dark. Moreover, oil lanterns and candles supplement the lighting and add considerably to the atmosphere of the evenings.
Activities
Wadi Rum Night Luxury Camp organises the full programme of desert experiences. Jeep tours access the protected area’s most significant formations — the Burdah Rock Bridge, the Khazali Canyon inscriptions and the red sand dunes at Um Sabatah. Camel rides operate at dawn before the heat builds. Hot air balloon flights depart at first light. Furthermore, guided hikes on foot reach terrain that vehicles cannot access. Additionally, the camp’s Bedouin guides carry knowledge of the landscape that transforms a standard jeep tour into a genuine encounter with the geology and human history of the valley.
Dining
Meals take place in the communal Bedouin tent. Guests sit floor-level on cushions and rugs or at raised tables depending on preference. Traditional Jordanian food fills the menu — mezze, slow-cooked lamb and fresh flatbreads using local ingredients. Above all, the Zarb underground barbecue is the defining dinner experience — meat and vegetables slow-cook buried in the desert sand for several hours before emerging at the table. Moreover, breakfast in the open air as the morning light reaches the canyon walls sets the tone for the day far more effectively than any indoor dining format could.

When to Visit
October through April is the correct window for Wadi Rum. Days are warm and comfortable for desert activity. Nights drop significantly — pack for temperatures below ten degrees in December and January. However, that cold is part of the experience. Clear winter air produces the strongest stargazing conditions of the year. Furthermore, March and April bring occasional wildflowers to the desert floor after winter rains. Low-angle winter light also produces the richest colours on the sandstone formations. Therefore, November through February delivers the best combination of daytime activity and evening atmosphere.
Combining Wadi Rum Night Luxury Camp with Other Destinations
Wadi Rum Night Luxury Camp works well as two nights within a wider Jordan journey. Petra sits two hours north by road. Aqaba and the Red Sea coast lie forty minutes south. Most Jordan itineraries consequently combine Wadi Rum with Petra as the southern circuit before continuing to the Dead Sea or Amman. Additionally, the Saudi border crossing at Durra gives access to AlUla for travellers who want to follow the Nabataean route across both countries. The inscriptions at Wadi Rum’s Khazali Canyon and the tombs at AlUla’s Hegra were carved by the same civilisation. Travelling between them therefore makes that connection physically real.
